Severe Action against Terrorism ( 7/11 Mumbai train blasts) sign now

We, the citizens of India would like to thank you first and foremost for taking time to read this petition. In light of the recent terrorist attacks on Mumbai, we as a group would like to request that certain changes be made in the laws dealing with terrorists who cause such brutal mass destruction and anti-national activities.

We request that the criminals of this order be punished immediately and severely without any mercy. The difference between a person committing a murder for personal reasons, and a person causing such an atrocious crime wherein hundreds of innocent people lose their lives, is vast. Hence such cases should be tackled with a different perspective. It grieves us to know that the infiltrators causing the 1993 blasts are still alive, even after 13 years! The fact that the criminals involved in the 1993 and subsequent blasts are not yet punished is evidence of our broken criminal law system, and we need to understand that this has emboldened the terrorists who are becoming increasingly fearless in carrying out their vicious plans!

Our humble request is that a fixed deadline be set for the court cases dealing with such criminals, so as to ensure that these criminals are punished without any mercy within 6 months of their arrest. Only by doing this can we discourage such barbaric activities, and ensure that the Indian law and order is no longer taken for granted! By doing this we would attempt to mete justice to the innocent families affected due to such ruthless activities and also appreciate the efforts taken by our police officials who risk their lives while capturing such criminals. We also strongly recommend the introduction or revival of strict laws and a general revisit of procedures that would give police officials the necessary authority & freedom to carry out anti-terrorist investigations without any political or social intervention.

We, the undersigned, strongly urge that these changes be made effective as soon as possible, this being the pinnacle of tolerance of the Indian citizens. This is a sincere request made by the population of the world-largest democracy to its honorable leaders; a request made with a hope that we would soon perceive a strong and secure India!
