Respect CBP Employees sign now
Employees of U.S. Customs & Border Protection are dedicated, hard working federal employees who are willing to place their lives on the line to protect our country from all forms of threat. As dedicated employees of U.S. Customs & Border Protection and concerned citizens who support our front line guardians at our borders, we, the signatories of this petition demand that Homeland Security Secretary Chertoff, CBP Commissioner Bonner and Assistant CBP Commissioner Ahern take all actions required with all due speed and diligence to ensure that CBP employees are treated with respect and dignity. We demand that any manager who uses their position as a tool of hatred or harassment against any employee be removed from the service without hesitation. Further, we demand that all policies that negatively impact on employee morale and well being and which fail to recognize employees rights under law be scrapped. Further, as all modern methodologies on personnel management prove that employees perform better when they have ownership in their work processes thus resulting in a more efficient agency; as CBP has recently been ordered by Judge Rosemary M. Collyer of Federal District Court to cease and desist with its implementation of harmful personnel policies, we demand that CBP recognize the importance of complete employee involvement with the development of any new personnel management system as well as any other policies or procedures that impact on the employees through the use of the employees exclusive representative union.
