Pippin & Merry: The True Heroes sign now

Dear New Line Cinema and Peter Jackson,

We, the fans of thus-far released films Fellowship of The Ring and The Two Towers would like to respectfully complain about the lack of acknowledgement given to hobbits Pippin Took and Merry Brandybuck.
This is particularity evident in regards to The Two Towers. Pippin and Merry have substantially shorter, rushed scenes than other characters, yet they feature prominently in the book of the same title. While it is understood that in order to move the story along not everything in the book can be incorporated into the film, we feel that it was Pippin and Merry who suffered the most, being forced to give way to other characters.

In regards to merchandising, we would like to draw your attention to the following:
Pippin and Merry appear in only a single Two Towers poster, which features the entire main cast.
At the end of Fellowship of The Ring the Company was splintered into three groups: Frodo & Sam; Legolas, Gimli & Aragorn; Pippin & Merry. There is a poster featuring Frodo and Sam alone, as there is of the Three Hunters. Pippin and Merry are the only members of the broken Fellowship that do not have their own poster.
Character posters for new, minor characters are available, for example Eomer and the Lorien Elves, despite these characters featuring in only a fraction of the film.
Pippin and Merry do not feature in the official poster used in cinema promotion, but have been blacked out, having previously appeared between Legolas and Sam on a banner used for The Two Towers film premiere.
Pippin and Merry do not appear in the Cadburys Card collection or the Royal Mail card collection, yet these cards feature multiple images of Frodo, as well as single cards of Eomer, Faramir and Eowyn.
In the 2003 calendar released in the UK, Pippin and Merry feature in the month of February. However, they appear on a mere one-quarter of a page, with the rest of the page, as well as the smaller pictures for the same month, being of Frodo and Sam.
The Two Towers saw the release of a number of postcards featuring many of the characters, such as Frodo & Sam, Legolas, Eomer, Gandalf, Saruman, Orcs, and Elves. Yet Pippin and Merry do not appear on any postcard available in stores, save the postcard depicting the same image as the single poster they are in. By contrast, there are five different Legolas postcards available.
Those Two Towers items that do feature Pippin and Merry use the same image, from pencil tins to calendars to the single Valentines Day card, while other characters have large numbers of different images available.

We therefore request that Pippin and Merry be given their own poster, and the recognition they deserve as the true heroes of The Lord Of The Rings.

I believe that this is a good cause. The actors Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd worked just as hard as the rest of the cast, and deserve just as much credit.

Agreed! They had much more of a part in 'The Two Towers' than was revealed to viewers of the movie. It would be a shame to let such valiant parts go to waste!
