Resolution To The National Park Service / Federal Department of the Interior

Whereas a USS ARIZONA Marine Corps remembrance was created and dedicated in November of 2005 at Pearl Harbor Navy Base Hawaii, honoring the 88 Marines who served on the USS ARIZONA as well as the 73 Marines which are still entombed.

Whereas this seven ton bronze monument honors all sea- going Marines, who have always been an integral part of the Department of the Navy since 10 November 1775

Whereas the seven tons are braced by rebar donated by the Navy from the USS ARIZONA's superstructure

Whereas the Marine Remembrance was dedicated by General Michael Hagee, 33 rd Commandant of the Marine Corps is a salute to in indomitable spirit of the Navy Marine Corps Team

Whereas our Corps of Marines are fighting and dying on an almost daily basis in foreign lands

Whereas their as been an absence of the Marine Corps contributions at pearl harbor for many years

Whereas this Marine Remembrance is in the perfect location overlooking their entombed shipmates from 7 December 1941 Day of Infamy

Whereas today's Marines have their promotions, retirements, and ceremonies at this hallowed site overlooking their shipmates of the USS ARIZONA

Whereas this Marine Remembrance is owned and maintained by the Armed Services YMCA, which is a venerable & longed honored organization. This Remembrance was raised by private funds and erected by Marine Corps Veterans. A Docent Program now educates Pearl Harbor Navy guests on the history of sea going Marines serving on all major Navy ships.

We do hereby resolve this Marine Remembrance be honored and revered in its current location for the next four hundred years.

As a Marine, I would like you to save this Pearl Harbor Marine Rememberance Memorial. You have no right to remove this monument. It would be like having someone come in and remove the stone from your mothers grave. Address 182 Quigley Road, Lusk, Wyoming.

The disrespect that Mr. Jon Jarvis has shown our Corps should not be unheard. The Marines entombed in the USS Arizona upheld the highest qualities that Marines are known for and should not be forgotten on a whim of someone who has never served his country
