Nova Scotians Against an HST Increase sign now

The Government of Nova Scotia plans to raise the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) by 2\%. Nova Scotians are already one of the most highly taxed populations in Canada (both business and personal). Also, many Nova Scotians have endured pay freezes, pay cuts, and job losses in this recession. Now is NOT the time for a 2\% tax hike on the HST.

I am a retired senior citizen and find that everything keeps going up and I am getting less and less each month. I do not support a tax increase.

Gov't has no accountability. It needs to lower its cost and work with what it has. A 20\% reduction in provincial Gov't costs is entrirely possible in my opinion.

Not only are we the most heavily taxed province, but the most expensive, and we have the worst MLAs who want even more money. If I do what NS Government does, I'd be in jail!
