It has come to the recent attention to many of the fans of Nip/Tuck that the PTC is trying to get the show taken off of the air. They are doing so by sending out threatening letters to you, the Sponsors of the show. While they do have the right to express thier views about the show; the fact that they are trying to decide what we watch goes against our rights as Americans. I for one think that Nip/Tuck is a great show, and I very much enjoy watching it. The show is not suitable for children, which is why there is a disclaimer saying so before each episode. FX is not responsible for monitoring what the children of America are watching, and neither is the PTC. That job belongs to the parents.

The PTC says, American families are being poisoned by the extremely offensive content in the show. That is their own fault. If they are watching a show that they feel is poisoning them they should change the channel. Do not punish the fans of the show because of a personal dislike they have for the show. Do not let the PTC come in and nazi the way we live our lives. It is up to you to take a stand for freedom. To fight back and not let them decide what we will, and will not watch.

There are a lot of fans of Nip/Tuck, and we will all continue to support your products. Please do not pull your support from the show, and let the PTC take away our rights as Americans.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This right here gives us, as Americans, the right to watch whatever we want. As tasteless, or vulgar as others may think that it is. We have the right to watch it. And FX has the right to air it.
Here are a few of the comments from fans of the show about the issue at hand:

The group targeted World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) programming in much the same way it is tearing at "Nip/Tuck." The PTC came up with a list of sponsors and claimed each one had dropped all ads from "WWE Smack Down!" on UPN. The truth of the matter was; some of these companies were regularly sponsoring the show, featuring WWE personalities in their ads, and underwriting WWE pay-per-view events. But the PTC still wasn't ready to stop--not until WWE was off the air. Or, until the PTC self-destructed by its tactics.
To make a long story short, WWE filed suit against the PTC for lying about the sponsors, interfering in business activities, and attempting to sully the WWE's good name by tying the corporation to "wrestling deaths." The PTC settled the case when it was clear they would lose, and proceeded to issue a long apology (which they embarrassingly had to keep on their own Web site for 6 months), promise to never interfere with WWE again, and pay a sum of a few million dollars. With no more WWE to harass, the group has come to your collective doorstep about "Nip/Tuck."

This stuff really TEES me off. I AM a parent. I DECIDE what my kids watch. I don't need some cause banging jerks to do it for me.
There is garbage on in the middle of day early evening like Elimidate. That is far less intelligent and a lot more out there then Nip/Tuck.

Another example of PTC being deceptive? Okay. Fox used to have a show called The Street. The PTC ran a campaign against the show. Eventually, the show got cancelled. The PTC ran a headline saying something like "PTC Closes Down The Street." I e-mailed the PTC to ask on what basis they made that comment. The response said they just "assumed" they had something to do with the cancellation. It could have been any number of factors, yet they went with the victorious headline.

This show is entertainment for adults. It is not meant to be viewed by children. If the members of the PTC are unable or unwilling to monitor their children's television viewing, I see no reason for them to make that my problem. There are a variety of products readily available to assist absentee parents in screening their children's television choices. I humbly suggest they invest in these products and let adult viewers make their own choice regarding shows like Nip/Tuck.

I love Nip/Tuck and would be very disappointed to see it cancelled! It offends me that someone thinks they can censor what I watch. I am perfectly capable of choosing the programs my son and I watch! Obviously they dont care about our First Amendment Rights! Don't you just love America?!!

These are just a few of the comments expressed about what the PTC is trying to do. As you can see if you pull your support from the show there will be a lot of disappointed people. Please take into consideration everything that has been stated here, and do not take a good show off of the air. Parents need to start doing their job, and stop trying to ruin quality television for the rest of us.

Nip Tuck isn't for kids but it doesn't mean that angry parents should be trying to tell the rest of us whether we can or can't watch it. Use the remote and turn the channel.

Sponsors: I, too, am a proud parent of a beautiful little boy. I would NEVER let him watch a show like Nip/Tuck, because as previously stated, it is ADULT ENTERTAINMENT. Even simple cable boxes now have the capability to block certain shows/channels/etc.

This show is just like any other TV show on network TV (Grey's Anatomy, ER, Two and a Half Men, etc.) just pushes the envelope a little more because it's on cable. It's the 21st century, there are hundreds of channels to watch, if you don't like this show
