Fix the Comic-Con Hotel Reservation Process sign now

This is a petition to get rid of the current San Diego Comic-Con hotel reservation process.

For the second year in a row Comic-Con has given the exclusive rights to take hotel reservations only through Travel Planners, Inc., whether online or on the phone.

This means that only ONE phone number is made available for which HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS of callers have to get through.

The effect has been to create an ARTIFICIAL BOTTLENECK into which all calls are choked, and which boils down to just ONE phone call and ONE stroke of luck in a thirty minute feasible time window before all rooms are gone.

We the Attendees are sick of it. We are sick of dreading the morning of Comic-Con registration, we are sick of the exhausting, nightmarish process of dealing with your over-worked and broken website on the morning of registration. We are sick of hitting the redial button with no real hopes of getting through for hours.

It defies common sense that as big as Comic Con has become, the hotel reservation process has become an absurdity.

Therefore, we are requesting that the original process be brought back:

That all the reservation lines the hotels can spare be made available again for the massive influx of calls that are guaranteed to come the morning reservations begin.

This is our petition. We are not the big studios or publishing companies, we are just us. The ones who with patience and loyalty make it happen year after year.

    We have been attendee's for many years and only stopped going when it became a chore instead of FUN to go to the panels, masqurade, and vendors area. We hope to go sometime again but until the process is changed we will be gone. Members for 25 years .
