City of Guelph Park Trees sign now

I object to the current trimming of City of Guelph park trees as evidenced in Riverside Park East. This practice should be immediately halted.

We should keep our parks as natural as possible. We have so little nature left in the city -- let's encourage it, rather than trimming it to meet some arbitrary definition of how trees "should" look.

I am very concerned as the trimmers destroyed the naturalized area along the river between Edinburgh and the Hanlon. They chopped down and took away many trees from the area. The city does not seem to have a policy on how to treat "naturalized" areas.

The tree branches are supposed to touch the ground to provide shelter for small creatures and protection for roots. This is disgusting and must not continue. Stop destroying what is natural and beautiful about Guelph. Kids don't do drug deals under conife

I am wondering what the reason is for this over trimmimg of evergreens. Staff should be devoting their time to judicious pruning of many of the city's younger deciduous trees.

I am in agreement with the regarding a need to update the City's park maintenance policies in favour of more naturalization and less manicured grooming.
