A Loss of Faith:

In May 2004, three young men, Emaan Altaf, Aseet Hussain and an unnamed 16 year old stood trial for a crime that they did not commit.
In spite of an incredible number of inconsistencies in the evidence against them, and in spite of a number of incidents that should have resulted in the appointing of a new jury at the very least, the three men were found guilty by the original jury. The total sentence that they received - a staggering 50 years was viewed as unusually severe by those who were following the case.
And now, these three men are facing the prime years of their life in jail. But they are not the only ones who are serving time for this terrible miscarriage of justice. On the outside, their families are having to deal with the prolonged and unnatural separation from their loved ones, whilst facing the shame as society condemns them as well.

We cannot hope that the judicial system will admit its error of its own accord. Instead we must demonstrate there exists widespread belief that the convictions are unsafe, and that this case was simply used to pacify fears at the rise in gun crimes in the local area. We must demand that this case is urgently reviewed, and, at the very least, retried.
To do this, we need as much support as we can get. By putting your name to this petition, you will show that you support a review of case. In doing so, you will be helping to raise the profile of this case, and give it the attention it deserves.Your support may help right this terrible miscarriage of justice, and help to free these three young men, so that they, and their families can get on with their lives.
